Our service is available 7 days a week, weekends and holidays and after school hours. We are here to serve you no matter what the time. In short, we are a local service you can trust.

Our office is open from 7.00am until 7.00pm Monday to Friday. A monitored answering machine is available at all other times so that your needs are dealt with no matter what time you call.

To teach in the UK you will need to have QTS and have a B.Ed degree / a degree with PGCE or equivalent. Teaching assistants need to have a Level 3, 2 or 1 NVQ qualification or equivalent, or have had a minimum of 3 months recent experience within a primary classroom.

The time it takes from sending your application form to working your first day mainly depends on references and DBS checks. If both checks complete swiftly, we can get you out working the same week due to our efficient yet extremely thorough registration process. Our compliance team complete several other registration checks while we request a DBS and references.

Your interview should take no longer than 45 minutes. You need to provide 2 suitable references and have a current Enhanced DBS subscribed to the update service (which Salford Supply Desk can process for you if you do not hold a valid DBS) before you can work for Salford Supply Desk. Once we have obtained suitable references and completed your vetting procedure, you will be in a position to work for us.

Yes. All our staff are thoroughly vetted and need to have an enhanced DBS subscribed to the update service before being placed out to work. We can process a DBS for you and the procedure is simple, secure and efficient.

Yes! Keep in contact with us and let us know if your availability changes. You can update your availability through your online portal or by contacting our office. The bottom line is schools tend to ask for staff who have done a good job for them. If you are professional and carry out a good job, this will increase your chances of regular work.

We work with Primary Schools in all areas of Salford, Bury & Leigh, as well as some surrounding areas. We listen to your preferences and endeavour to keep travel to a minimum!

We will always endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. The nature of supply means that often bookings are often at short notice. We strive to fulfil any requests you may have, therefore if you require advanced notice then we will tailor any bookings we offer towards your preferences.

If we have to apply for a new DBS Disclosure, this can take anything from 1 day to a month. The sooner you provide your documents so we can apply for a new DBS (if applicable) and the sooner you are able to provide your references, the quicker we will be able to apply for them and in turn get you cleared for work. We recommend for you to contact your references, providing confirmation that you would like them to return a reference for you.

If you have lived abroad in the last 10 years for a combined total of 12+ months, you must have an overseas police check. We are unable to apply for overseas police checks on your behalf, so you will need a letter from the police in the country in which you have been residing confirming your record. We can provide guidance on how to apply for this.
