We are pleased to confirm that, in line with the introduction of Benedict’s Law, all teachers, teaching assistants and support staff working through Salford Supply Desk will complete mandatory allergy awareness and anaphylaxis training.
From September 2026, Benedict’s Law introduces new requirements to help ensure that school staff are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to recognise and respond to severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. The legislation aims to improve pupil safety by ensuring that those working in schools understand how to identify allergy symptoms, respond appropriately in an emergency, and support children with allergies.
As part of our commitment to safeguarding and providing the highest standards of support to our partner schools, all Salford Supply Desk staff are required to complete this training before accepting assignments for the new academic year. The training will also become an annual mandatory requirement, ensuring our staff remain up to date with current guidance and best practice.
By ensuring every member of our workforce completes this training, we are strengthening our commitment to creating safer learning environments and giving schools confidence that the staff they receive are fully prepared to respond should an allergy-related emergency arise.
We would like to thank all of our staff for their continued professionalism and commitment to safeguarding the children and young people they support.
