Our service is available 7 days a week, weekends and holidays and after school hours. We are here to serve you no matter what the time. In short, we are a local service you can trust.

Our office is open from 7.00am until 7.00pm Monday to Friday. A monitored answering machine is available at all other times so that your needs are dealt with no matter what time you call.

To teach in the UK you will need to have QTS and have a B.Ed degree / a degree with PGCE or equivalent. Teaching assistants need to have a Level 3, 2 or 1 NVQ qualification or equivalent, or have had a minimum of 3 months recent experience within a primary classroom.

Your interview should take no longer than 45 minutes. You need to provide 2 suitable references and have a current DBS on the update service (which Salford Supply Desk can process for you if you do not hold a valid DBS) before you can work for Salford Supply Desk . Once we have obtained suitable references and completed your vetting procedure, you would be in a position to work for us.

All our staff are thoroughly vetted and need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service before placing in a school or nursery centre. We can process a DBS for you and the procedure is simple, safe and secure.

Keep in contact with us! Let us know your availability. Its always advisable to call us at the end of each week to let us know your availability for the following week. The bottom line is schools tend to ask for staff who have done a good job for them. If you are professional and do a good job, this will increase your chances of regular work.

We will always endeavour to give you as much notice as possible but the nature of supply means that often bookings are often at short notice.

If we have to apply for a new DBS Disclosure, this can take anything from 1 week to a month. The sooner you are able to provide your references the sooner we will be able to apply for them and in turn get you cleared for work.

If you have lived abroad in the last 12 months for a period of time longer than 3 months or have arrived from overseas, you must have an overseas police check. We are unable to apply for overseas police checks on your behalf so you will need a letter from the police in the country in which you have been residing confirming your record.
